Are your doctors board-certified?

Yes, all of our doctors are board certified dermatologists through the American Board of Dermatology.

Do you perform cosmetic procedures?

Yes. Please talk to one of our dermatologist about how lasers, wrinkle fillers and botulinum rejuvenation can be used to diminish signs of aging that concern you.

Is there a certain age when people should first see a dermatologist?

There is no specific age that patients should first see a dermatologist. The skin is the largest and most visible organ of the human body. It is important to keep your skin, hair and nails healthy. The best way to avoid being misled by myths concerning skin, hair or nails is to discuss any questions or concerns with a dermatologist.

Do I need a referral to see a dermatologist?

No, you do not need a referral to see our doctors

What sunscreen should I use?

Sunscreen should be applied every day to exposed skin, and not just if you are going to be in the sun. An SPF of at least 30 or higher is recommended and ideally with Mexoryl.

How else can I protect my skin from sun damage?

Sun protection is the principal means of preventing premature aging and skin cancer. In addition to wearing sun screen, other ways to protect your skin:

  • Wear protective clothing (long sleeved shirts, wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses)
  • Seek shade: remember that the sun’s rays are strongest between 10 am and 4pm.
  • Avoid tanning beds.
  • Protect children from sun exposure by playing in the shade and applying sun screen.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We are members of most of the PPOs. However it is best to check with your insurance carrier to see if DMGSF is listed as a PPO provider since most insurance networks change.
