Edward K. Hadeler, M.D.

Dr. Edward Hadeler is a board-certified dermatologist and San Francisco native specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. After completing his dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, he returned home to San Francisco to join the Dermatology Medical Group and care for patients in the community where he grew up.

A third-generation physician serving the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Hadeler follows in the footsteps of his grandfather and mother. He attended Stuart Hall and Lick-Wilmerding High School before attending the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he double majored in Biological Sciences and the History of Art and Architecture and received the William R. Reardon Award at commencement. His longstanding interest in art and the visual humanities continues to influence his approach to dermatology, and his academic work has explored the intersection of medicine, dermatology, and Renaissance art.

He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His training also included two dedicated years of clinical research at the University of California, San Francisco. During residency at UT Southwestern, he developed particular interests in procedural dermatology, cutaneous surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and emerging dermatologic therapies.

An active researcher and author, Dr. Hadeler has contributed to more than 50 peer-reviewed publications spanning dermatologic surgery, cosmetics, therapeutics, digital health, and access to dermatologic care. He remains involved in clinical research and organized dermatology and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology.

His professional memberships include:

  • American Academy of Dermatology
  • American Society for Dermatologic Surgery
  • California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery
  • San Francisco Dermatological Society

Outside of the office, Dr. Hadeler enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog, exploring San Francisco’s outdoors, neighborhoods, and food scene.
